Facial Filler Injection Washington, DC

Facial Filler InjectionSubdermal fillers plump skin on the face that has lost volume to the aging process. Filler materials can be made of natural acids or synthetic materials, and are generally offered on an outpatient basis in the doctor’s office under local anesthesia. Results are evident within one week. Patients may experience slight discomfort, swelling, bruising, numbness and/or redness from the needle injection, which may last for a few days.

Dr. Olding uses several different facial fillers in his practice:

RADIESSE® is a non-toxic, non-allergenic synthetic injectable filler. The results can last for up to two years with touch-ups. Complications with RADIESSE® are rare.
  • Restylane® and JUVÉDERM®
Restylane® is a clear liquid gel composed of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid used to reduce or eliminate deep wrinkles. The results can last for up to nine months. Occasionally, a patient will develop a granuloma, or lump, as a complication of Restylane® injection, which could be painful or potentially require surgical removal.
  • Sculptra®
Sculptra® has been used across Europe since the 1990s to improve hollowed cheeks, sunken eyes and wrinkles. It generally requires three to six treatments to achieve the desired results, which last up to two years. Allergic reactions are possible but rare. Some patients may develop granulomas or bumps beneath the skin, which may require surgical removal.

His hands and surgical skills are legendary

I have known Dr. Olding for over 20 years. He has worked on many close to me and myself. He is the most honest, ethical plastic surgeon I know. He doesn’t sugar-coat or tell Ugly Betty she will look like a movie star after he is done and sucks 100 lbs out of her. I refer to him frequently and would highly suggest anyone considering cosmetic surgery should at least get an opinion from him because HE WILL BE HONEST. His hands and surgical skills are legendary.

Patients seeking filler injections with Dr. Olding are advised to abstain from aspirin-like medications for at least two weeks prior to their injection. This helps to reduce bleeding and bruising. A list of these medications and supplements can be found on our website.

Important Announcement

I am committed to the health and safety of my patients. Public health officials have mandated the cancellation of elective surgeries, and for the protection of our patients and their families, we will not be seeing elective patients until the ban on doing so is lifted. Therefore, for the next few weeks, we will not be scheduling new appointments or procedures; however, our staff will continue to be available to take phone calls and answer your questions. Once we have some glitches out of the system, you will be able to have a virtual consult with me – stay tuned!
