Nasal SurgeryConveniently located to serve Washington, DC
Nasal surgery, or rhinoplasty, re-contours the nose by adjusting the size, removing a bump, altering the tip, bridge, or span of the nostrils, or by changing the angle between the nose and upper lip. There is no “universal” type of nasal surgery that will meet the needs of every patient, so the procedure is customized for each of Dr. Olding’s patients individually, depending on your needs and expectations.
The rhinoplasty procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and patients usually return to work and strenuous activity within 2 weeks. The result is permanent.
No scarring soon after surgery; a very natural look; and 15 to 20 years younger looking!
I’ve had several facial rejuvenation procedures by Dr. Olding over the last 7 years and they have all been excellent. In every instance, Dr. Olding listened carefully to what I wanted done and he provided good feedback on what he would recommend. He’s very easy to speak with, very friendly and kind, as is all his staff. Previously, I had a procedure done in Los Angeles, so I have a good basis for comparison. Dr. Olding is, by far, better. No scarring soon after surgery; a very natural look; and 15 to 20 years younger looking! Highly recommended in every way possible.
Nasal surgery can cause temporary swelling, bleeding, bruising or headaches. Potential complications include infection, skin discoloration, or incomplete improvement requiring follow-up surgery. (Approximately 10% of all rhinoplasty patients nationwide require a small touch-up.)
There are two types of incisions for rhinoplasty. The closed rhinoplasty, which is performed from inside the nostrils, has less swelling postoperatively, but is more difficult to get the perfect result because visual ability is compromised somewhat by the limited incision. An open rhinoplasty allows the surgeon to see better by temporarily lifting the skin off the nose to be able to see better.
