Lower Body Liposuction Washington, DC

Lower Body LiposuctionLower body liposuction, or suction-assisted lipectomy, improves body contours by liquefying and vacuuming away fatty deposits. Commonly targeted areas of the lower body include the buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and ankles.

The procedure is generally performed on an outpatient basis, but a more extensive approach may require a brief hospital stay. Patients usually return to work within two weeks and to strenuous activity within a month. The results are permanent with sensible diet and exercise.

After undergoing lower body liposuction, patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, drainage, numbness, soreness or a burning sensation; however, swelling and bruising typically subside within one to six months, but those side effects are minimized with tumescent techniques. Potential complications of lower body liposuction include asymmetry, fluid retention, skin rippling or discoloration, bleeding, infection, or excessive fluid loss leading to shock (only in cases that result in significant tissue removal).

My experience with Dr. Olding and his staff was absolutely wonderful

My experience with Dr. Olding and his staff was absolutely wonderful. After several consultations with other plastic surgeons I settled on Dr. Olding because I believed he was the most qualified and showed the best judgment while explaining my procedure to me. He was also recommended to me by my trusted dermatologist so that factored into my decision as well.

Important Announcement

I am committed to the health and safety of my patients. Public health officials have mandated the cancellation of elective surgeries, and for the protection of our patients and their families, we will not be seeing elective patients until the ban on doing so is lifted. Therefore, for the next few weeks, we will not be scheduling new appointments or procedures; however, our staff will continue to be available to take phone calls and answer your questions. Once we have some glitches out of the system, you will be able to have a virtual consult with me – stay tuned!
