ABDOMINAL LIPOSUCTION

Procedure:
|
- Improve body shape by removing exercise-resistant fat deposits with a vacuum-like device.
- Can be performed using the ultrasonic technique, in which targeted fat cells are "imploded" creating a solution which is suctioned out.

Outpatient.

Side Effects:
|
- Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, burning sensation.
- Temporary fluid drainage from incision sites.
|
|
Risks:
|
- Asymmetry.
- Rippling or waviness of skin.
- Pigmentation changes.
- Skin injury.
- Seroma (fluid collection).
- Excessive fluid loss leading to shock (only in large
- volume liposuction).
- Infection.
- Bleeding.

Recovery:
|
- Back to work: 1 - 2 weeks.
- Strenuous Activity: 2 weeks.
- Swelling and bruising: 1 -3 months.
- Use of tumescent technique and ultrasonic technique may decrease post-operative bruising and swelling.
