NECK LIFT

(cervicoplasty)

Procedure:

  • Often done in combination with a facelift.
  • Often involves tightening of the superficial muscles of the neck (platysma) like a corset to help define the jawline and neck.
  • Can be done through an incision hidden under the chin.
  • If done without a facelift, liposuction is usually performed.

Outpatient.

Side Effects:

Short-term swelling, bruising, bleeding & asymmetry.

Risks:

Injury to facial nerves that control feeling or motion (may rarely be permanent).
